What does transgender mean?

The general terminology of transgender (Transsexual) is applied to all people who have gender changes.
This means that a person who was born a woman, but feels like a man, who has appropriate behavior and interests, belongs to the category of transgenders. The same applies to males, but who feels like a woman.
Gender is the psychological sex of a person. Sometimes people use it as sex (gender value), but this can lead to a lot of confusion. Since sex is described as characteristics that are biologically defined, whereas gender is based on socially constructed features.
Let's look at some divisions

Transsexual

1. A transgender, Transsexual (transexual) is one whose gender identity is the opposite of his biological sex. Usually, a person wants to bring the body into line with the identity -  through hormonal and surgical correction. Transsexual MtF (male-to-female) - born with a male body, but feels like a woman, FtM (female-to-male) - born with a female body, but feels like a man.
In relation to the operation, transsexuals are distinguished pre-op (pre-op) - before the operation and preparing for the operation; post-op (post-op) - after surgery; non-op (non-op) - without surgery, for which surgical correction is impossible or undesirable for health reasons, etc.
To talk about pre-op, post-op and non-op, we need to understand the meaning of SRS (Sexual Reassignment Surgery).

SRS (Sexual Reassignment Surgery)
is a Surgery to change the genital sex.

pre-op TS (pre-op) is a Transsexual who has decided to have a sex change procedure, but has not yet undergone surgery. We can say that the term also corresponds to  people who think about sex changes, well, those who come close to the sex operation.

post-op TS (post-op) - This is Transsexual who has passed one or more times through SRS (Sexual Reassignment Surgery). Or, who stopped at the initial stage, without starting hormone therapy and psychiatric examinations.

Non-op TS (non-op) - This is a Transsexual who may have contraindications in the form of the environment, medical problems, lack of funds, etc.

Shemale

2. Shemale is a biologically male person from birth, who changed his appearance to a female by hormone therapy, but retained male genital organs. Sometimes, looking at some women, it is very difficult to believe that they used to be men or they still have distinctive male sexual characteristics in their pants. Of course, the penis is the first and main difference between a shemale and a normal woman.
The fact is that shemales were originally men and, despite their desire to achieve a female appearance, they retain their genitals and the ability of erection. As a fact, shemales take an active male role during sexual encounters.

Crossdressing

3. Crossdressing is the desire to wear clothes of the opposite sex, while feeling sexual arousal. Most often this is attributed to kink fetishes inherent in men.
Understanding what a crossdresser means, it is worth noting that this phenomenon balances on the latest fashion trends and gender contradictions. While women often opt for men's wardrobe details, such as boyfriend jeans or shirts, for their image, female crossdressers are disgusted by most of society and can be divided into two categories:
Partial. This includes metrosexuals who carefully monitor themselves, use different cosmetics, grow their hair and use some of the lingerie of the female wardrobe.
Full. This category includes men who completely dress up as women and copy their behavior. They are also called transvestites.

Transvestite

4. A transvestite is usually a person who dresses and behaves like the opposite sex. There are two types of transvestites: dual role transvestites and fetish transvestites.
Dual-role transvestites simply love to be like opposite sex, and dressing up for them is one of the ways of manifest their feminine side, but they do not experience sexual arousal. They just psychologically like to "play the role" of the opposite sex from time to time.
Transvestite fetishism is the compulsive need or desire to dress in the clothes of the opposite sex in order to experience sexual arousal.
